How to Integrate Wheatgrass into Your Routine
One thing I love about wheatgrass is that it’s available in so many forms so anyone can try. This versatility means that you can add it to your diet in more ways than one!
How to Use Wheatgrass in Your Diet
Fresh wheatgrass. I love fresh wheatgrass! has a nice and earthy flavour which is a lot less bitter than other forms. I grow my own and use organic wheatgrass seeds. This form is ideal for juices and to add to smoothies. Fresh wheatgrass grown from seed is always better! Richer in nutrients, free from additives, and offers the purest flavour straight from nature.
Frozen wheatgrass cubes. I sometimes resort to these when I’m running short on my grown wheatgrass. Benefits of frozen wheatgrass cubes include their convenience. You just buy them and toss them into the blender/recipe.
Tablets or powders. These are even easier to blend into your foods. I’d recommend them if you have an on-the-go lifestyle and are looking for an easy fix—but all those benefits 😉.
However, one thing’s for sure. No matter how busy or relaxed your lifestyle is, you can add wheatgrass to your diet.

Your Wheatgrass Questions Answered
How much wheatgrass should I drink daily?
1-2 oz. of wheatgrass juice is sufficient. I would suggest starting with a small amount and working your way up because wheatgrass is potent and you can take time to get used to having daily—especially if you’re a first-timer.
What are some symptoms of wheatgrass detox?
If your body is toxic, you might feel fatigued, experience headaches, and have bloating for a week or so.
Can I grow wheatgrass at home?
Yep, easy and economical too. You will need:
• A tray
• Quality soil
• Wheatgrass seeds
When you’ve sown the seeds, keep the tray in a sunny spot. And give it enough water. You’ll have fresh wheatgrass in 7 to 10 days!
Does wheatgrass work for weight loss?
Wheatgrass may aid weight loss goals as it helps to eliminate the removing of toxins, because it has lots of nutrients which can curb your cravings -plus the chlorophyll in the wheatgrass detoxifies your body. This can contribute to weight management. But diet, exercise and sleep always remain crucial to any healthy weight loss.
What are the best wheatgrass juicing tips?
• Use a masticating juicer (which extracts juice from fibrous plants).
• Harvest the wheatgrass when about 6-8 inches tall.
• You can add lemon or apple to improve the flavour of your juice.
• Always drink the juice fresh (I’d say within 15 minutes of making).
How to store fresh wheatgrass?
You should store fresh wheatgrass in an airtight container in the fridge. I would suggest juicing within a few days.
Can I add wheatgrass while cooking?
It’s a good idea not to cook it (to maximise its benefits). But a good workaround method is adding wheatgrass powder at the very end of cooking. It’s best sprinkled on salads or steamed vegetables.
What does wheatgrass taste like?
Grassy; bitter; sweet. If you brew it into a drink, it’ll have this grassy and herbal aroma and a rather unique flavour.
